The Annereau family is one of the oldest families in the town and gave its name to the estate. Indeed, they appear in the history of the region since 1390. From that time, they establish and develop their vineyard around the family home, to transmit it from generation to generation. Thus, for more than six centuries, the descendants of the same family ensure the exploitation.
The domain of Annereaux extends over a total area of ??25 hectares. the vineyard, on a single block, located west of the Lalade de Pomerol appellation, is located on the average terrace of the Isle valley. Its soil consists of deposits of quaternary origin (formation of Riss) composed of sand, gravel and large pebbles. The vineyard is composed of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of the vines is around 25 years old. The harvest is done in a piecemeal way dictated by an optimal maturity. The grapes are brought after a precise sorting by gravity in concrete vats. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, of which 25% are renewed each year.
At the tasting, the Château des Annereaux offers a generous, round and harmonious wine whose traditional aging in barrels enhances the silky structure and the elegant aromas.
