We have the pleasure to offer you today Château Terrey Gros Cailloux 2003, a wine that is perfect to open now and that reveals blackcurrant, cherry and vanilla aromas. The mouth is full, deep, concentrated with a creamy sensation dominating. This 7 hectare vineyard planted in the heart of Saint-Julien, is mainly composed of cabernet sauvignon (70%) but also of merlot (25%) and petit verdot (5%).
The wines of the Saint-Julien appellation did very well in 2003 thanks to the location of the appellation that is close to the sea. In this way the vines suffer less from the heat. For this 2003 vintage, the wines are structured and fruity in spite of the heat wave that took place in France.
The quality of the soils and the grape varieties attracted the Borie family (owner of the Châteaux’s Lalande Borie, Ducru-Beaucaillou, Haut-Batailley and Grand-Puy-Lacoste) that decided in 2005.
