The History of Château L’Inclassable has not been a smooth and tranquil one. Several legal disputes, for similar reasons, have changed the history of the château forever. The name of Château Lafon, which it had worn proudly for more than two centuries, was forbidden, leading to a new name in 2003: Château L’Inclassable. Since then, Remy Fauchey and his team have produced a beautiful medocain, appreciated by lovers of great wine.
Château L’Inclassable is one of the few châteaux to be able to boast two different terroirs, on which it grows four different varieties. Half of the vines occupy a gravelly ridge in the town of Prignac and the other half has a clay-limestone subsoil. The vines are 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, and 6% Caberent Franc. After manual harvest and vinification in cement vats, the wine ages 12 months in new oak barrels. Château L’Inclassable is definitely a beautiful brand Medocaine, consistent in quality.
The wine is typically deep, colorful, and rich in ripe tannins when tasted.
