The history of Château Goudichaud goes back to 1780 when the architect Gabriel, a student of Victor Louis (architect of the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux) draws the plans of the master house of the estate. Château Goudichaud is located on the banks of the Dordogne, opposite the prestigious appellations Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac. Belonging to the Glotin family, the estate is one of the reference properties of the appellation, both for the quality of its wines and for its ability to produce substantial volumes. The wine “Château Goudichaud” bearing the name of the property, is the standard wine and shows a great finesse.
The terroir in one piece of Château Goudichaud consists of 80% Sauvignon Blancs & 20% Sémillon planted on a gravely soil of gravel carried by the Dordogne. The vine is worked in double Guyot, disbudding and stripping. The winemaking is done in a winery built in an 18th century building and benefiting from all the modern techniques of wine making. The aging lasts 8 months in French oak barrels.
At the tasting, Château Goudichaud Blanc offers an expressive wine, all in elegance, which combines aromas of white flowers and citrus.
