The history of M-G Grande Cuvée from Maison Gutowski begins with the passion of the couple Aline and Grégori Gutowski for the region of Provence. The couple’s mission is to make their rosé a concentrate of the best of the Côtes de Provence appellation; a true gourmet rosé wine. With a unique positioning, Maison Gutowski lists the M-G Grande Cuvée Rosé in an urban influence through its clean and contemporary design. The M-G Grande Cuvée rosé conveys the finest expression of the Côtes de Provence appellation thanks to a rigorous plot selection that emphasizes the richness and diversity of the soils of this region. The old vineyards benefit from the schistose and silty soils of the Massif des Maures which bring all the strength and minerality of the terroir but also the exceptional sunshine of the Cannet des Maures. While the clay-limestone hillsides at Thoronet and near Lorgues reveal them, all the freshness, the expression of the fruit and the elegance of the South.
In addition, Maison Gutowski works with winemakers in love with their land, cultivating old vines in sustainable agriculture. The harvest is nocturnal so each selected grape brings its particularity to form the character of M-G Grande Cuvée. Each plot is vinified separately. The pressing follows directly, in pneumatic to avoid any pellicular extraction, without maceration or bleeding. The alcoholic fermentation is done at low temperature in thermo regulated stainless steel vats. Finally, the malolactic fermentation is blocked in order to preserve a subtle chiseled acidity. The blend is made from the grape varieties that have the best match with their terroirs (40% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 15% Cinsault & 10% Rolle). Regarding viticulture, the size is in guyot for syrah and cordon de royat for the other grape varieties.
At the tasting, M-G Grande Cuvée from Maison Gutowski presents a complex and elegant bouquet with floral aromas mixed with notes of peach. Silky palate with a creamy texture and aromas of red berries accompanied by a nice minerality and a long and delicate finish.
